The original developer of the Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat was the Société Anonyme du Cap-Ferrat, a group of French investors. The hotel was built in 1908 and was designed by the architect Édouard-Jean Niermans. In 2009, the hotel underwent a major renovation and expansion project. The project was led by the architect Luc Svetchine and the interior designer Pierre-Yves Rochon. The renovation added 16 rooms, 8 suites with private plunge pools, a 7,500 square foot spa and fitness center with indoor swimming pool, and two new suites on the garden level of the main building. In 2015, the hotel was acquired by Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. The hotel is now operated by Four Seasons and is known as the Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat, A Four Seasons Hotel.
