AHA Beijing is a luxury residence that embodies MAHA's four core principles - nature, service, art, and design. The brand is renowned for its simple and impeccable taste in living spaces. Designed by internationally renowned design masters, MAHA has created a residential collection including a 450-square-meter flat with park views, a 900-square-meter skyline mansion, and its latest addition - MAHÁ Beijing featuring a sky courtyard.
MAHA Beijing with a sky courtyard is the latest masterpiece by MAHA, occupying an area of about 1,000 square meters. This stunning creation exemplifies MAHA's ethos and concepts of living. At MAHA Beijing, lifestyle is not just an external physical presence, but also a spiritual resource that constructs a new consciousness: that the Chinese spirit is facilitating the globalization of lifestyle.
Project Brief
In collaboration with renowned designer André Fu, the design team strived to redefine luxury residences based on the vision of Adrian Zecha. The space intertwines history with modernity, creating a harmonious environment where nature and urban life coexist. The fusion of Eastern and global influences results in a serene living space with a sense of Zen and evokes open-mindedness, allowing for a unique experiential living.
Project Innovation/Need
The space, which spans three floors, strikes a perfect balance between social and private areas. The first floor features a roomy banquet hall and a versatile leisure and entertainment space, ideal for hosting guests and spending time with friends. On the second floor, the over-200-square-meter master bedroom and private reception room provide an exclusive and personal retreat, allowing one to find freedom in daily life.
The design incorporated numerous symbolic Eastern elements, creating a brimming cultural ambiance. From the banquet hall, tea room and bar to the traditional mortise and tenon structures, as well as the Chinese sloping roofs and palace lanterns, every detail contributes to a serene atmosphere, imbued with a sense of ritual and order.
Design Challenge
The intention behind MAHA is to create a sense of serenity in cities. This goal posed a challenge for the design of MAHA Beijing. The project aimed to find a balance between oneself and the world through innovative designs. The first floor features a roomy banquet hall and a versatile leisure and entertainment space, ideal for hosting guests and spending time with friends. The second floor boasts a spacious master bedroom that spans over 200 square meters, along with a private guest space that provides an exclusive and personal retreat, creating an ideal upscale living experience.
Sustainability
With a focus on sustainability, the MAHA Beijing has implemented several measures to ensure eco-friendliness.
1. Use of three-layer hollow glass doors and windows: These doors and windows are designed to provide better heat insulation and noise reduction, resulting in reduced energy consumption and environmental pollution. Moreover, insulating glass effectively isolates outdoor noise, enhancing overall living comfort.
2. Installation of a rainwater recycling and automatic irrigation system: The rainwater recycling system plays a crucial role in water resource utilization by reducing the use of tap water, thus alleviating the burden on the environment. The automatic irrigation system ensures precise control over irrigation timing and water consumption, thereby maximizing water resource utilization efficiency.
3. Utilization of Negative Air Ions (NAIs) coating: This innovative environmentally friendly coating releases NAIs, which can help purify the air and possess antibacterial and deodorizing properties. By improving indoor air quality, it enhances the health and well-being of residents.
The measures above helped to achieve sustainability, which has contributed to environmental protection and enhanced the overall quality and comfort of living.

Consideration also given to space allocation, traffic flow, building services, lighting, fixtures, flooring, colours, furnishings and surface finishes.
