Bvlgari Hotel Beijing

Bvlgari Hotel Beijing — located at 8 Xinyuan South Road, Chaoyang District, the hotel opened on 27 September in the heart of the exclusive Embassy District, crowning 7 years of meticulous construction, and sits adjacent to the Second Embassy District and near the trendy dining and fashion quarter of Sanlitun. It forms part of Genesis Beijing, a mixed-use development on the banks of the Liangmahe River whose programs include office, retail, residential and museum uses, integrating cultural sites and public spaces; within this masterplan, Kohn Pedersen Fox designed the architecture for the office towers and the hotel, the neighbouring Genesis Art Foundation was created by Tadao Ando, and the sculpted gardens are by Swiss landscape architect Enzo Enea, with 200-year-old pines and an Italian-style gazebo. The hotel is operated by Bulgari Hotels & Resorts, formed in 2001 as a joint venture between Marriott International and Bulgari, while ACPV ARCHITECTS Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel was charged with designing the entire interior and exterior. The design theory frames the property as an "urban resort": modern Italian design with touches of Chinese tradition, conceived as a high-end Bulgari jewel, with a restrained palette that blends dark and light to balance rigor and hospitality, elegance and privacy — residential in feel yet monumental in presence. Materially, warm earthy neutrals meet burnt orange and ochre, with teak, elm, bronze, marble and granite throughout; signature moments include a Murano glass chandelier anchoring the gold-leafed sculptural staircase to the ballroom and a stainless steel and bronze bar inspired by the Fontana della Barcaccia near Bulgari's Rome flagship, while geothermal energy and rainwater harvesting support Genesis's sustainability agenda. Facilities comprise 119 rooms including the nearly 400 m² Bulgari Suite, one of Beijing's largest; Il Ristorante under Michelin-starred chef Niko Romito, plus Il Bar and the Lobby Lounge; a ballroom; a 200 m² Mezzanine Lounge for private events; and a two-floor, 1,500 m² spa with 11 treatment rooms, steam rooms, saunas and a 25 m indoor heated pool — framed in Vicenza stone and cabanas evoking an ancient Roman bath — alongside a gold-and-green mosaic vitality pool referencing the Terme di Caracalla.
