The Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam was developed by COD Hotels, in collaboration with architectural firm GA Design and local heritage experts. COD Hotels is a Dutch real estate development company known for its luxury hotel projects, while GA Design is an international architectural and design firm with extensive experience in the hospitality industry. Together, they worked to transform the historic canal houses into the luxurious Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam, preserving the original architectural features while incorporating modern amenities and designs to create an unparalleled hospitality experience

The architectural design for Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam was handled by GA Design, an international architectural and interior design firm. GA Design specializes in luxury hospitality design and has worked on numerous prestigious projects around the world. For the Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam, GA Design worked alongside local heritage experts to carefully restore and renovate the six interconnected 17th and 18th-century canal palaces that make up the hotel. The design approach aimed to seamlessly blend the historic character of the buildings with modern luxurious elements, creating a unique and refined atmosphere for guests to enjoy.  The landscaping design was done by Solid Nature, and the interior design was led by GA Design as well
