Club Ascend - Dance Club/Bar/Restaurant.

One of the unique features of Ascend is that each area has different functions or moods. The challenge was for each area to have its distinct look and yet blend into each other seamlessly.

There are three areas that can be enjoyed separately and can be unified to be one big party. The layout was designed with this in mind. The club as the nucleus of activity can be viewed from the overhead VIP balcony. A sliding glass divider allows the restaurant to be part of the club if the event requires it. Functionally, the design had to balance addressing operational needs of maximizing seating in defined but interactive restaurant, VIP, and dance club areas.

The design played with dramatic origami shapes, bold active swirls and provocative modern forms. This aims to give a sense of movement, dynamism and layering inspired by the club’s name – Ascend. Key design features would be an abstract origami accent ceiling treatment to counterpoint ascending chairs upon entering the restaurant. Semicircular swirling seating further emphasizes the active design. This is all set in a sophisticated dramatic dark color palette. Upon entering the club, jagged lines and bold forms accentuate the dance floor DJ booth in the center. Transitioning to the top floor exclusive area, rich and detailed textures are introduced to welcome the guests. For guests wanting a breath of fresh air, a pristine and immaculate outdoor top floor balcony with natural and organic textures is accessible from the VIP area. A view of the Manila skyline is enjoyed from this vantage point.
