It’s a newly built two-story retreat, but Hotel B Design does a marvelous job of fitting in with the rustic farmhouses and sweet-smelling lavender fields of rural Provence. Wrapped by a fragrant grove of olive trees and with craggy limestone karsts providing a dream-like backdrop, Nancy and André Bourguignon’s spa hotel is a calming, isolated sanctuary. Here, guests can recharge and indulge in the serenity of French country life.
With its pale white façade and sloping, tiled roof, Hotel B Design has all the external architectural charm of a traditional pastoral residence. But inside, designer Christophe Pillet (who has already made his mark on Design Hotels™ properties in Paris and Saint Tropez), has worked hard to ensure the emphasis is on swooping modern contours and broad open spaces. Mineral shades of white, brown, black and grey pervade each of the 14 airy suites. Each room has access to a cerulean private pool, while the outdoor terrace rewards with energizing views over the rolling green-and-purple countryside. In the spacious, 250sqm spa, delicately fragranced products by Carita and Decléor help guests unwind in their own private treatment rooms.
Here in southern France, gastronomy is central to the joie de vivre, and Nancy – part hotel owner and part culinary superstar – wows guests nightly with simple, seasonal dishes infused with locally produced herbs and oils. There aren’t any menus, but with the markets of Provence providing an endless variety of fresh, flavorsome ingredients, there’s always something new to try.
Nestled among olive trees in the heart of rural Provence, Hotel B Design is a small, family-run spa retreat offering visitors the chance to recharge and savor the best in seasonal French cuisine.
