Ernst & Young Eschborn Plaza.

Interior fixtures for two 13-storey high-rise office blocks with a joint conference area. Up-market standard of interior fixtures for the common staff and client areas.

Spatially expansive reception hall, two flexible auditoriums, staff cafeteria and cultivated conference levels, lift lobbies, designed corridors to the office areas. Modularly conceived office storeys with individual offices and open interior zones. Eschborn Plaza has a very high standard of internal fixtures, approximate to that of a modern high-class hotel.

“When visiting the building it is evident that Smolenicky & Partner are trained as architects. Their approach is to a certain extent deductive. They do not use individual pieces of furniture and interiors in order to simply more or less convincingly fill up a pre-determined space; rather they commence from the whole, from precisely the space in question, and structure it with the most sparing interventions possible. But whatever the elements concerned are, they always remain attached to the space; the elements do not lead a life of their own, but instead exemplify the intrinsic architectonic potential of the architecture.” -- Hubertus Adam
