Grand Cafe Pearl at Hilton The Hague, The Netherlands

Further references to Dutch craftsmanship include the Delft Blue tile cladding that has been incorporated in the bar counter and the enlarged traditional Dutch lace patterns that cover the columns. Other unique design elements include the whitewashed oak floor, which is laid in a historical pattern, and Delft Blue velvet that covers the couches.

Designed by Angelika Kok, owner of Dutch firm Barzileye Concept & Design, the Grand Café Pearl at Hilton The Hague in The Netherlands opened during late summer earlier this year.

For the lighting, design and research company Freedom Of Creation, which specializes in designing with 3-D printing technologies, created four sparkling Palm chandeliers.

Each chandelier is comprised of four concentric, vertically shifted rings made of chromed steel, contrasting the blooming shape of 37 shades. Each shade—produced in polyamide with the latest technologies of 3-D printing—recalls the bark of an exotic palm, the shell of a pineapple and the petals of a fragrant flower, while simultaneously exuding a soft, sensuous atmosphere.

A view of the ceiling reveals one of the four Palm chandeliers, which creates delicate accents and reflections, resulting in a glamorous atmosphere.

Situated over the bar is a high-resolution reproduction of Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer’s “Girl with a Pearl Earring,” which has been printed on stained glass.
