The Rosewood Phnom Penh

The Rosewood Phnom Penh was developed by Vattanac Properties and designed by Farrells Architects (TFP Farrells) and BAR Studio. The hotel's interior design was handled by BAR Studio, a Melbourne-based firm, while Bond Design Studio, a Tokyo-based firm, designed the food and beverage spaces.

The Rosewood Phnom Penh Hotel is located in the top 14 floors of the Vattanac Capital Tower, an 188 metre high landmark in the heart of the central business district of the capital. With its 175 rooms, of which 37 are suites, the hotel is one of the largest in the city.

Due to its architecture, which integrates both feng shui and traditional Naga motifs, Vattanac Capital is the best business address in Phnom Penh. The shape of an ascending dragon is aligned eastwards and offers an unobstructed panoramic view of the city and the Mekong river. The design of the Rosewood Phnom Penh connects the past and the present of Cambodia by merging the lines of history, nature and culture in one design which links the international with the local and the contemporary with the traditional. The entrance is an old copper roof which covers the Porte Cochère and is framed by hand-carved wooden panels: modern technology in combination with traditional themes. The guests pass through a row of wall fragments made from rammed earth, which are designed to capture the spirit of the old temple walls of Angkor overgrown by the jungle but also the lush, tropical atmosphere of a grand colonial garden.

In the style of the hot, tropical climate, the lush vegetation and the colonial heritage of the country, the rooms of the hotel are shady, cool and furnished with dark wood. They are captivating with travertine marble and neutral tones, with the sparkle of brass details, the smoothness of leather and the shimmering of mosaic tiles all rolled into one. The rooms in the modern and classical style offer a variety of views: of the Tonle Sap and Mekong rivers, the old town, the royal palace and the national museum as well as a kaleidoscope of rust-coloured roofs. The interior design builds upon this elegant setting and adds layers of customised furniture, fabrics, tailor-made lighting elements, art works and artistic curios. The decorative elements are influenced by Cambodian handicraft. To create maximum convenience for the guests, the hotel was equipped with the smart home KNX system from JUNG. Various room scenarios can be called up via F 50 push-buttons in antique brass. The push-buttons are supplemented by the LS 990 design classics, also in antique k
