During the reign of Khải Định, there was a very talented Vietnamese architectural draftsman working for the French Public Works Department. His talent caught the attention of King Khải Định, who would summon him whenever the court needed to build a new structure.
After the king had shared his ideas for the architecture and decorative details, the draftsman would create a sketch and present it to the king. The king would then point out any shortcomings or areas he was dissatisfied with, and the draftsman would take the sketch back to revise it. This process would continue until the king was satisfied and gave his approval for the construction to begin.
