Singapore opens Connect@Changi facility, allowing business visitors to meet without serving quarantine
In the first phase of the project, Connect@Changi is launching 150 rooms and 40 meeting rooms that can hold four to 22 attendees. It will expand in phases to reach a full potential capacity to host about 1,300 business travellers.
The interior design for Connect@Changi facility was carried out through a collaboration between two Singapore-based firms: The Project Workroom, and Asylum. The Project Workroom is a design firm that focuses on creating collaborative spaces and workspaces, while Asylum is a multidisciplinary design studio that has worked on various projects including hotels, restaurants, and retail spaces.
The concept behind the interior design of Connect@Changi is centered around creating a comfortable and welcoming space for travelers to work and stay in quarantine during their visit to Singapore. The design incorporates a neutral color palette with subtle natural touches, such as wood finishes and greenery, to create a calming environment. The spaces are designed to be functional and flexible, while still being aesthetically pleasing, to cater to the diverse needs of travelers. Overall, the design is modern and understated, with a focus on comfort, functionality, and sustainability.
