The recently completed Hotel de l'Opera is the first MGallery brand of upscale hotels to open in Vietnam's capital. Situated just around the corner from the Hanoi Opera House in the heart of the city, the interior design takes its lead from the location. "DWP was tasked with creating a story to relate the hotel to its surroundings, and chose the theme "A Night at the Opera"," says Simon Vancliff, Business Development Director, dwp Vietnam. "Jewel tones are the accent colours in a neutral palette. The French Colonial architecture of the building's exterior is juxtaposed with classical opera motifs and sleek, contemporary design contrasts in the interiors." The dramatic entrance into the lobby is designed to create a sense of pageantry with the initial procession through the hotel featuring teal as the accent colour, a custom ceiling design, and teal coloured light. Further in, the lobby's 'living room' features a mixture of shine, reflection and deep textures with suspended dome light pendants defining each intimate area. "These luxurious canopies have private opera house booth qualities, where guests recline in velvety club chairs and sofas," says Vancliff. The sense of decadence follows through into the 107 guestrooms and suites. Each has its own unique touch and features an oversized bed, dramatic drapery and an indulgent bathroom. Hotel de l'Opera is the second MGallery-brand hotel in Vietnam. The first – La Veranda Resort – is located on Phu Quoc Island off mainland Kien Giang Province. Hotel de L'Opera Hanoi was developed by the prestigious hotel management company, AccorHotels. AccorHotels is a French multinational hospitality company with a global presence. They are known for their expertise in operating a wide range of hotel brands, from budget to luxury.
